We came across this AMAZING young woman and “nerdfighter”, Angela, who was inspired enough by Milk + Bookies to make a youtube video in Project For Awesome. We think SHE is awesome and give a huge thank you to Angela and hope she will host an event in her hometown one day soon.
Angela, you rock! Thanks so much.
Watch the video at youtube.com project for awesome.
We are always so inspired and excited to see how each host comes up with a new and fabulous way to throw their own Milk + Bookies event. Yesterday in New Jersey, Cutie Patooties pre-school hosted a party and made these adorable logo cookies. If they tasted half as great as they looked, they must have been delish!!!
Host your own and see how creative you can get! Come on, we dare ya.
We, here at M+B, believe that everyday should be filled with thanks and gratitude. Sometimes life gets in the way of that so just in time for Thanksgiving, comes an AWESOME picture book for all ages:
An Awesome Book of Thanks, by Dallas Clayton.
If you are in the Los Angeles area, join us for an in-store event with Dallas on December 11th from 4-6 pm at “Every Picture Tells A Story” in Santa Monica.
Gift of the Month Shop and Children’s Book of the Month Club are featuring children’s classics for the holidays. To kick it off, we were lucky enough to have Jennie Garth come and read THE GIVING TREE to some super cute kids. The kids donated copies of these classics to STORYTELLER, a pre-school in Santa Barbara for under-served children living in poverty.
We are so excited about a new partnership with publishing giant, Simon & Schuster. S&S are giving 4 new titles to each student hosting a CLASS PROJECT for Milk + Bookies. Sign up here today to get started!
Check out some of their great titles.
Everyone is talking about the incredibly moving film, “Waiting For Superman”. The geniuses behind the movie at Participant Media have released a companion guide book for teachers, parents and anyone interested in being part of the movement toward positive change.
Milk + Bookies was honored to have been mentioned as a resource promoting children’s literacy and service learning.

We were thrilled to receive this photo of our book donations being chosen by their recipients from Operation School Bell last month. The thought of all these children choosing a hardcover picture book to take home (most times it will be their first book), is an enormous thrill for us. We think that books are a roadmap for the imagination, they offer hope, inspire greatness and are a wonderful escape we all need from time to time.
This is why we do what we do. Thanks for doing it with us. Now, go and HOST YOUR OWN M+B TODAY! Contact us to get started: firstname.lastname@example.org
Very exciting to have had a wonderful event at the tres chic members only club, Soho House in West Hollywood. TV’s Lara Spencer was kind enough to lend her time to read to the kids while great story book donations were made to the West Hollywood Public Library.
The Mother Company is hosting a super-fun kid-friendly event at the 1969 GapKids pop-up store on Robertson from 2-4. The Gap will donate a portion of proceeds to Milk + Bookies! There will be story time, cookies, shopping, photo flip books and arts and crafts.
