Meredith Alexander lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children. She is a floral designer by trade, but now works tirelessly for children’s literacy and service learning. Founding Milk + Bookies in 2004, Meredith became Executive Director in 2008 when Milk + Bookies gained it’s 501 (c) 3 non-profit status. Meredith’s favorite bedtime story is Pickle-Chiffon Pie by Jolly Roger Bradfield.
Laura Zimmerman works and lives in Los Angeles, with her husband and two boys. She is originally from Oregon, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Lewis and Clark College. Professionally, Ms. Zimmerman is a Director at One Capital, an investment advisory firm, where she manages private client portfolios. Ms. Zimmerman worked as a Managing Principal and Portfolio Manager at Payden & Rygel. She is a CFA charterholder (1995) and member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles. Laura’s favorite children’s book is Quick as a Cricket by Audrey Wood.
Stacy Bernstein is one of the founding partners of Kid Concierge, a Santa Monica based lifestyle marketing company. She is also a partner in Crafting Community, an innovative series of family events. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she is married with two small children. Stacy’s favorite children’s book to read to her little ones is Iggy Peck Architect by Andrea Beaty.
Suzanne lives in Pacific Palisades with her husband Michael and two children, Sydney and Jake. Suzanne is a seasoned brand marketer in the consumer packaged goods industry and has a passion for making healthy food more accessible to families and children. She is currently the Chief Marketing Officer of Bolthouse Farms – the #1 grower/producer of fresh carrots and the #1 super premium juice brand in the grocery/mass channel. Suzanne earned her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Suzanne is both artistic and analytical and brings creative problem-solving to everything she does as both a marketer and a mom. Suzanne’s favorite children’s book is The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt.
Dina works and lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two boys. Having grown up in LA and going through even the “best” public school system, Dina always felt the importance of making reading fun and easily accessible at an early age. Milk + Bookies has quickly become a passion project for Dina to help her LA community and integrate great advertising partners to help grow this special organization. Dina has been an advertising executive for over 18 years specializing in brand partnerships, creatively telling advertisers stories through marketing promotions. One of Dina’s favorite books to read her boys is Llama Llama Red Pajama, it’s a fun story that teaches patience “because…sometimes Mama’s very busy”!
Caitlyn has shaped her career around bringing people together to do good and inspire change, and got her start as part of the Milk+Bookies family while at UCLA as a college intern. Many years later, she’s excited to help M+B continue to create positive change as the organizations Director of Operations. Her favorite picture book is A Wish for Wings That Work by Berkeley Breathed.
Courtney has been been a part of Team M+B for the past eight years; serving as Creative Director of the Storytime Celebration for the past six years and most recently as the Program Manager for the Leaders + Readers Program. When she is not reading or leading, she is crafting with her company little junebugs, or volunteering her creativity to the MaxLove Project, which helps families fighting pediatric cancer thrive. Courtney is a BIG fan of the Harry Potter franchise and is convinced she is a long, lost sister of Ron Weasley. Her favorite picture book is Not-A-Box by Antoinette Portis.
Heidi Fugeman Lindelof
Heidi Fugeman Lindelof has had a fulfilling run in the film industry (SPIDER-MAN, THE ISLAND, TEARS OF THE SUN, ALMOST FAMOUS) and now focuses on raising her son, studying Child Development and working with child advocacy programs in the United States (CHILDREN’S DEFENSE FUND, I HAVE A DREAM FOUNDATION) and in Africa (GLOBAL STRATEGIES, STRONGHEART FELLOWSHIP). Heidi lives in Los Angeles with her family.
Alexandra Carter earned an MBA and is a non-profit development professional. She has most recently been in healthcare philanthropy for the last 13 years. She grew up in Southern California and lives in Los Angeles. Alexandra’s favorite children’s book growing up was A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
Todd lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children. He is a consumer strategist at heart and an evangelist for breakthrough innovation. Todd is currently the Chief Marketing Officer with Bolthouse Farms – the premiere grower/producer of baby carrots and the #1 super premium juice brand in the U.S. Todd has spent over 25 years in general management, marketing and innovation roles with brand power houses like Procter and Gamble, The Walt Disney Company and The Coca-Cola Company. Todd earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. Todd’s favorite children’s book is 10 Minutes till Bedtime by Peggy Rathmann.
Jon Bronson, a creative businessman and family man, is a Los Angeles based real estate agent. Originally from Connecticut, Jon is also the editor in chief of the website, LA Home & Style, a neighborhood focused real estate resource. Jon’s wife has been a long time member of the Milk + Bookies fundraising event committee and he believes strongly in the mission of giving books as well as teaching philanthropy. His favorite time of day is Judy Blume story time before bed with his young daughter, Goldie.
